The Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC
(ASTTBC)

What Are The 3 Types Of Septic Systems?

The Professional Governance Act (PGA) governs around 8,000 applied science and engineering technology professionals in British Columbia and the Yukon through the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC (ASTTBC).

Recently, in February 2021, the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (ASTT) Act was annulled, and ASTTBC continued its function as a regulatory body under the PGA. ASTTBC guarantees the safety, competence, and ethical practices of technologists, technicians, and technical specialists, thus safeguarding the public.

The organization also supervises, regulates, and takes investigative and disciplinary actions when necessary against applied science and engineering technology professionals in British Columbia. Professionals registered with ASTTBC must adhere to the Code of Ethics and fulfill continuing professional development (CPD) criteria.

When individuals register with ASTTBC, they agree to fulfill all their professional duties as outlined by the organization.

Darren Wallace, co-founder of North Valley Contracting Ltd. along with his wife, Thea, is a practicing Registered Registered Technical Specialist (RTS) and Registered Onsite Waste Water Practitioner (ROWP) with ASTTBC (Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC) and has been registered as such since 2010.

Septic systems are incredibly complex systems and as such, it is vital to make sure those who are embarking on having them installed utilize the services of those who are certified and regulated to provide such services. You can search the ASTTBC database for certified registrants here.
